I have many sheets of stamps most are 12 to 16 per sheet are they worth more this way?

It really depends on the stamp/sheet in question. There is no simple one-line general rule. If the stamps on the sheet are all different, or a special souvenir issue, then they should be kept intact. After that, it gets complicated...
