Hi guys
Geezz I wish I could get my catalogues for that price. I work for a friend who is a stamp dealer, so I get a discount. I also do know what he has to pay for them from his supplier. He charges me $88.00 Cdn. each and everyone else he wants $95.00 EACH catalogue.

Like Doodles, I work at a stamp shop, so I get a break on the price. I have a 2005 set of Scott, that's all I need. I use Stanley Gibbons Vol. 1, Scott Classic Specialised, and the KGVI Commonwealth Catalogue.

Doodles, get a scan off to Bobby of your favourite stamp and it can be used as a avatar for you. You don't look anything like Lincoln!

Thanks for the suggestion of a new avatar. I will do that. Right now I am still away at a friends place. I won't be home until later tonight, but I will certainly do that.
I will probably use a nice Queen Victoria. Works well for me. That's my middle name. Well, not the Queen part.

Come on Bob! Just give up those Cuban cigars for two days and you could afford twice that.

i would think that stamp dealers are the main buyers of full sets of the scott catalog year after year...if scott can afford to give them such a discount..then we the collectors are subsidizing the dealers !!

Dealers have to make money to stay in business...

Without stamp dealers, the hobby would lose the credible financial base that holds it together.

How many sets were they allowed at that price? I can undertand selling them one set at that much of a reduced price. It makes good business sense to have as many dealers as possible using the most recent catalog. After all, if my dealer is still using 2006 catalogs then they should be good enough fo me, but if he is working from the latest set maybe he knows something I don't know?
