Stamps are so much more better priced for my pocketbook! I will continue with my Lincoln collection and help with my hubby's nickel and walking Liberty addiction, but here I come stamps!

Okay, okay! Maybe I was a little drastic in saying that, but this stamp collecting is so much fun!

OK - you have the absolutely most absolutely cool avatar.

You beat me to it.

Life is over for me. All I can do is collect really serverely overstamped heavily cancelled Ukraine stamps from T360.

For many years I have been collecting both coins and stamp, but it takes a lot of time if you are going to do it properly. I guess that's why I'm a Jack of both hobbies and Master of neither. LOL

The one thing the coin guys can do that the stamp collector can't, is go to the bank and search thru rolls of coins. The closest thing we can do is buy off-paper mixtures and go thru it.

Steve is right...man stamps take a lot of time..but I have seen retired folks like myself with no hobbies...well if you call shopping and going out to eat hobbies..but anytime I have time on my hands I grab a box of stamps....sometimes I find one that fits in my albums..more likely I catalog them in glassines..under 50 cents catalog or in 102 cards..over 50 cents..someday someone will have a lot of cataloged stamps...i try to trade a lot and do not really care about tit for tat..its great to get with another collector and say..here from these take what you want and vice versa..thats fun !

I think both coins and stamps tell a story, but stamp collecting is by far more affordable and interesting, can lead to more research, etc. Unfortunately, I think coin collecting offers a better return on money invested, but I don't collect for the investment - I invest my retirement in lottery tickets!

I never really got in to collecting coins but I can I do have a few that were my husbans grandparents and some from my few and far beteween travels. I'ts funny I never even think to dig them out and look at them. I do find them interesting though but I barely have the time needed for stamp collecting I can't even imagine doing both.

Like most of you I collect strictly for enjoyment and love to share and trade my findings when I have extras.
