Hi
I recently found in I one of my boxes of stamps an envelope full of internal revenue stamps, such as for wine sales and stock transfer. Most of then also have "Documentary"on them. Does anyone collect them and how can I find out their value? I'll try to post a picture of them tomorrow.

Jim

Jim, I have a few of these types of stamps and that caused me to look into their collectible value and interest. Since I'm no expert on these (nor an expert in any stamp related topic for that matter) don't take me for the last word.
I did spend hours, many hours, researching as best as I could.
Most revenues that are stock tranfers or documentary have minimal monetary value. Enjoyment value, on the other hand, can be high.
Some of the Wine stamps are mid to high in monetary value. Exceptions can be found for all 3 catagories. Snoop around on ebay in the Book of the book sub catagory and use the search feature. After you post some photos, someone may be able to help with more info.

US Specialized Catalogue also carries these, I think.

Not sure why, but there are 2 identical threads with the same first post. Below is what I had posted in the other thread:

Yes, Jim, there are many who collect revenue stamps (as compared to postage stamps).

These stamps will be listed in both the Scott Standard Catalog Volume 1 and the US Specialized Catalog. They are listed at the back of the US section -- the catalog number prefix is R###.
