Assuming that the color on my screen is a close approximation, it seems to be a brownish orange. Or perhaps an orange brown.

Of the 32 colours found, only two could possibly match my stamp.
I can describe the colours by Gibbons or by Royal Mail.
It could be Yellow/Old Gold or Ochre/Sand. My colour guide does not really help in this instance as they are quite close. I have been trying to match them with the Mint copies in my collection. I will get back to you when I decide !!

Orange-Brown or Brown-Orange would give a much darker appearance, much like the colour of the 10p without ellipses, which is described by Gibbons as Orange-Brown.

As an aside, it was an interesting question you asked about the elliptical perforations. I will put my two collections side-by-side later and think about it. I would have thought it was just as easy to counterfeit ellipses as perfs.
But then again, it could have been just Royal Mail trying to make some extra cash and giving pathetic excuses for doing so

Londonbus1....More to come...
