Hello everyone
Have been really enjoying reading all that's been posted and the replies. Most helpful and I'll be recommending this site to others.
A little about myself: I collect New Zealand (of course!) specialised from 1855 to about 1930. I have the more modern NZ stamps because I seem to aquire them rather than purchase. I also collect Tunisia and Greece My other passion is collecting stamps, covers, postmarks etc, with hearts on them.
I am secretary of the Auckland Philatelic Society (APS!) and if you are ever visiting Auckland and want to attend a meeting on a Tuesday evening drop me a line and I'll pick you up from your hotel and take you.
I need help in two area on this web site: 1. How do I get my own "aviator" uploaded? 2. How do I get to email members, every time I try I get an error message?
Looking forward to some quality discussions

Welcome Bruce We have several members from your part of the world. I'm sure you will not have any trouble finding trading partners. I collect U.S. mostly but I do have a topical collection of horses and a few New Zealand stamps. I'll let the other guys answer your questions. They are more knowledgeable than I am about that stuff. Just wanted to say Welcome. Carol |

Good day and Welcome Bruce!
I think I have said that before somewhere here but it's always nice to see a friendly note addressed to yourself!
The email part is not really stated anywhere I can see either. Well, if it is written somewhere that is not obvious. Perhaps it could be included in the Rules section by the admin folks at some time.
I believe it is linked to how many quality posts you have.
Either 50 or 100, not sure. I gave up on trying to email after a while in the beginning myself. I just tried now (I have 139 posts now) and it works. I think it goes for sending you any email also. Not sure on that though.

Welcome aboard. We can always use more New Zealanders. And I'm sure once you hit your qualifying level of posts (which won't take long) you should find willing trading partners or persons willing to help in other ways. |

Welcome Bruce Great to have you here. Hang in there you'll soon be able to send emails. I can't quite remember how many but I do remenber it didn't take long to get to that point. I collect worldwide but have a really good start on New zealand. Please share some of your collection with us. Dianne |

Oh sad! I just came back from visiting New Zealand and Australia. I was in Auckland on my birthday which just happened to be on a Tuesday. Ah well.
It was great fun coming back home (to the U.S.) and taking another look the New Zealand and Australian stamps I had. Recognizing the subjects on the stamps was fun, as was getting to say "I've been there!" or "I've seen that!" |
