Having been a lurker for about 9 months now, I just registered on this forum. I suppose I had been avoiding admitting to myself that a hobby that I was consumed with as a youth, and neglected for about 30 years, has indeed crept back into the forefront of my life. This my be good, as I am now a productive member of society and can consider acquiring moderately pricey items that I could only dream of as a youth. This is probably bad for the same reason.
My main interest has always been Canal Zone philately, as my father was stationed there when he was in the Army, and 2 of my sisters were born there. I am also interested in classic stamps as defined by printing method, not age (intaglio stamps have always appealed to me much more than more modern methods). I am very interested in overprinted stamps, as they not only demonstrate postal history but social and political history as well.
My final area of concentration is more modern definitive stamps printed on the Cottrell press, mainly because that is my name. No relation, but it's a pretty cool angle, in my opinion.
