I confess to being a space filler. It thrills me to find the last stamp on a page, just like getting a present for Christmas. If I find a better copy of the same stamp I do replace the original one. Also try to get a mint and used copy of each stamp.

In the past I've had some sense of guilt at caring more about filling spaces than knowing the history behind the stamp or the stamp subject. Like some have mentioned, I've considered branching off into covers and leaving the stamps alone.

I still get joy from filling a page, though, and I still enjoy the search for inexpensive but hard to find issues.

To ease my guilt, I have started buying and reading books on various issues/sets that I'm interested in. For example, there is a really nice book on the Prexies issues that I'm pretty sure Santa is going to be bringing!
