Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. While collecting stamps I accumulated large number of covers. Some are very interesting, but I do not know much about covers. Could someone help me sort through them, please? I would really appreciated any help. Thanks a lot. Here is the first one

The first one is a Registered Letter envelope from England. The king pictured on both stamps is Edward VII. It is prestamped with 1d. postage plus the Registration fee of 2d. There is also an additional 1 1/2 d. postage, presumably because it was going out of country to Boston.
The second looks to be a wrapper, also prestamped, originally for 1/2d with a later addition of 3d, and another 1/2d postage affixed. Note that it is from WH Smith, long a book retailer, whose company, I believe is still in existence with many locations all over England. |

I'm not sure whether the St. Helena cover is an FDC, but the postmark date seems to be February 5, 1957. It could just be a "souvenir" type cover sent to a stamp collector. Perhaps someone could look in Scott's and see what day this series was issued.
As to the Australian cover, the thing of note is the Cinderella on the bottom right hand corner. It would be interesting to see what our Australian members thought of it. |

The St. Helena stamps were issued on Aug 4, 1953. Therefore it is no an FDC. k |

WpgLwr Thank you very much for the info and your time. Everybody else thank you very much too. Anybody have any idea about their value. The reason I'm asking; I have a large number of generic covers so I want to sell them as a lot, and would love to know should I include any of these in that lot or keep them. |

This one I got today. Looks like an FDC, unfortunately not in a very good condition. |

The Israeli one is interesting, looks to me like it coincided with the introduction of a new monetary system in 1960, when the agorot coins came out. Londonbus could probably tell you more.
As to the other, First Flight covers are collectible as heck and there's even collectors who are interested in nothing else but. The addition of the Postmaster's letter makes it even neater. |

The post office letters are very interesting, reminds me of the obsolete typewriter which was instrumental in my college days, computer printers still yet to be invented. nice covers! |
