That being said, lets get on to more interesting ideas . . .

I was just looking around on DelCampe and noticed under Community the Express Polls, a neat feature, similar to the polls on here I think.

They have two about paying via PayPal or MoneyBookers or Other and in 2009 more people where using PayPal to pay.

As for accepting, sellers tried to accept both, which is a good idea in order to reach more customers.

The DelCampe Wallet is , I believe, automatically activated and used when you use PayPal or MoneyBookers. I just use PayPal at present and I had no problems paying a few sellers through PayPal and, it seemed to me, the wallet. Of course I am a relative newbie on DelCampe also. But that was good, as it was not hard to use.

I have not sold anything yet on DelCampe though. That could be due to my slow internet dial-up connection. I keep wishing for a bigger faster computer, or more computers. but Santa and the friendly elves have skipped over me lately. Maybe I should change the cookies I left out for them? Hmmm.

Laswabbie,

I bought on many auctions site previously mentionned. On occasion I buy also at Zillions of Stamps which is not a auctions site. It's a group of dealers who sell at fixed price. Birmingham is part of it. You often find what you want there; it's huge. Leave it to you to decide if they have fair price. Birmingham does for my early polish stamps buying.

ebay has changed dramatically during the last two years and is not as favourable for sellers as it used to be. Delcampe and Stampwants have, as mentioned before a problem with buyers' traffic.

As a seller I tend to see it this way: If you rely solely on the auction site in which you list your stamps, to drive traffic into your sales than ebay is still the best place around. However, if you can generate traffic by yourself (for example by using mailing lists of existing buyers) than the other auction sites are much better as they don't charge as much as ebay.

As a buyer: ebay's fees made it impossible for sellers to offer low-end philatelic material. Thus - stampwants and delcampe are great places to find those elusive stamps which have a low catalogue pricing.

Hello fellow stampers!

As I collect by Scott number and have needlists for the entire world.
I find Stamps 2go http://www.stamps2go.com/default.aspx
to be the most user friendly and best thought out site on the net. Many of the sellers overprice their stuff but you learn to avoid them. However there are several that offer difficult items at around 1/3 cat. You learn who is who and you can also search by seller and a wide range of other options.

My opinion of Delcampe is very low. I have been on ebay for 11 years and have seen it go down hill especially how it treats sellers. Still it does have the largest audience.

I've had mostly positive experiences on Stamps2go. There is one seller in particular that I have had really great service from, especially for vintage airmails. There are some issues: people do not always post images of the stamps, and sometimes post "reference" images (i.e. not an actual image of the stamp you are buying, which can be problematic). I also wish that they would allow for more detailed feedback. Otherwise, they seem to have a good thing going. I have not compared there fees to sellers to any of the other sites, so can only comment on experience as a buyer...
