Picked this cover up today, at a show in New Jersey, and my first thought, was seeing all the posts about the terrible mail service, both here and Canada.
Here is a cover from Antarctica to Springfield Mass, that took over 1 year to deliver.
Notice the stamped marking on the lower left.... Postmarked 1/31/34 received at San Francisco 3/25/35
Were philatelic covers serviced by the base post in those days? (i.e., could Dr. B have sent down a package with a handful of envelopes for mailing?) That might explain not having to be serviced from a ship?
Told you that cover was a Keeper. Did you check out the one on E-Bay for 20Lbs. Looks like yo0ur New Jersey Jets came thru this afternoon, wonder what the outcome will be when they play the colts?? LOL
