Beginning January 6, 2010 and ending December 29,2010 there will be a TPTR postmark issued every week for 2010 from a Texas town for each of the 52 county seats. You can veiw the USPS postal bulletin to see the mailing details for each available postmark. Here is a link to some info on the program:

David Giles this has your name written all over it. Ithink I may see if I can collect every postmark on cover. Two of my 66 towns are represented, Amarillo & Vega.

Thank-you! I sent away to get the Amarillo postmark... There are certain other towns (like Brownwood, TX, where I lived that I'll want).

Okay everybody! Sell me your unused air postal cards; 21c - 28c face value!

Thanks!

David

On a side note, I was chatting with the artist, Rick Vanderpool, that designed the Postmark and came up with the idea. He said that Wednesday is the only day of the week in 2010 that the post office is open during all 52 weeks.

I am trying to convince him of doing a similar project for the Route 66 towns in Texas, which sounds promising. This project would only include about a dozen towns.

David,
That card is from Claude, not Amarillo. The Amarillo postmark isn't until November 3, mayby they will use Yellow ink. I do like the Red ink, it's a nice change from the standard black, used on most pictorial postmarks.

I think you just got excited about having new postmarks to add to your collection. Maybe, they'll hold it for you for 9 months.
