What Stamp Do You Like Most?

Hello, every one, what stamp do you like most?

I think it would be too difficult to pick just one stamp as my favourite.
Might have to think about that.

Thats like my children..at any given point I might tend to favor one !!

that's a real tough one: since I am partial to Lincoln and Washington I would say Scott #77 or it's grilled and reissue varieties or Scott 122 for Lincoln and any shade of the 24 cent 1861 for Washington. However, there are a lot of candidates for that question including many of the other 1869 pictorial designs and the $5 John Marshall stamp of 1894-5 (Scott 263 or 278) with that deep rich green color.

that's an easy one (for me), a big large colorful stamp! one that can be framed and hung on a wall alone by itself is awesome!

Which ever one I'm trying to acquire at the time

i agree with Nic..i have "blown up" copies of my favorite Quetzal overprints and framed them !!

Like Nic, I'm partial to large stamps, so I think I might go for these.

with Kirk. The one on my hunting list is at the top of my mind usually.

But certain stamps I like because of the overall design elements of the series.

There are a lot of stamps that I am not at all familiar with. They are waiting for me to discover them and to find out how great they are. The thrill of discovery. The thrill of the hunt.

It is good that stamps aren't edible or we would roast them over a fire and chew them down to the bones. Ha. Caveman stamp collecting. You didn't have to worry about how to store your collection, you just ate it.

I'm partial to Saudi Arabia's August 1968 "Map Showing Dammam to Jedda Road, and Dates" set. It's a simple map stamp but carried several errors during the printing process. The most commonly reported errors are dots meant to represent Riyadh and Dammam were left out, and Saudi officials ordered that these omissions were to be added in by hand before issuance. I think I was lucky enough to snag a hand edited mint set. I won't know until I get a better magnified look but to the eye it seems likely.

I gotta say that I have a lot of favorites, but this one is still up there !
