Sharing My Vietnamese Stamps

While going through my old stamps, I came across 2 books that my hubby got me when he visited Vietnam about 11 years ago. There are a few duplicates between the 2 books, but the stamps are quite pretty. Thought you might like a peek.

Yes, anyone with Vietnamese stamps should hang on to them and take a look at a recent Scott catalog. Vietnam is currently a "hot" area and quite a few of the stamps (especially pre-1980) have gone up a surprising amount. Many of those early North Vietnam stamps that used to be thrown in box lots as fillers are actually worth more than a pretty penny now!

What a bummer for me that many pre 80 Vietnam are valuable now.
I used to have a nice collection. I have a Vietnamese (and also a Cambodian) sister from whom I received many stamps sent by her relatives in Vietnam. A Vietnamese co-worker back in the late 70s also gave me some stamps. I sold almost all of them for a pittance in the early 90s. I did keep a beautiful handpainted cover with a gorgeous handmade Christmas greeting card. The artistic abilities of the Vietnamese rivals that of the Chinese.
