Philippine Stamps With Japanese Influence

I found these in a pile of loose packets. Supposedly they are "official" stamps authorized by the Japanese Military Administration somewhere between 1943 to 1944. There appear to be Japanese symbols on each stamp. I found this when I googled this subject:
"Overprinted with "(K.P.)" which stands for KAGAMITANG PAMPAMAHALAAN or when translated means FOR OFFICIAL USE.
Stocks of the 2c Rizal, 6c Filipina and 30c Blood Compact were overprinted with black deleting bars to obliterate "United States of America" and "Commonwealth". Surcharged in black."

They can be found in the Philippines listings as Scott #NO4, NO3, and NO1 under Occupation Officials. The Scott US Specialized lists a spacing between the lines variety for NO4 and NO3.

Thanks. When I get my Scott Catalogs I'll look these up (I assume they will be in one of the 6 volumes I am getting or is the Specialized stuff in a different volume? Would like to know their approx value for the fun of it). The note that was stuck in the glassine envelope said they were mint. From the look of them, they might be. The envelop was so old you almost couldn't see through it. I'll have to go through that pile of stamps/envelopes and see if I can find any other gems. It is the same group I found the Japanese stamp in.

The listings for these stamps can be found in both the Scott US Specialized (near the back under the Philippines section) and also in Volume 5 (for the 6 volume WW sets).

There is one stamp in the set that is a premium item, but you pics do not show that stamp. All the rest are common stamps. The line spacing varieties are also common stamps.

On an unrelated note...

Why is it that stampdog's posts (and only his) are always twice the width of my monitor and I have to use the horizontal scroll bar ?

I have no idea. I, she, uses Photoshop for picture editing and I conform to the file size requirements. I'll try to make them smaller next time and see if that helps.

I'm so sorry; I assumed -- you know how that always turns out.

Also, please know it wasn't a complaint -- just an anomaly I was curious about. And it is not your images -- they work great; please don't change anything. It's your text -- your lines don't wrap like mine do. After I posted, I started glancing through other forums and there are a few other posts that do the same thing. Maybe it has something to do with fonts or copy/paste or replies? I don't know, but it's not just you.

I wasn't offended. It happens all the time. I wonder why my text does that. I simply type in the message area. Oh well. Thanks for letting me know what it was doing.

It has to do with the width of the scan. The text will extend as wide as the width of the scan. I used to have this problem at several forums.

What happens on my browser (Firefox), is that after uploading, the screen will redraw and the pictures will be resized to fit the width of my window. When I click on the resized picture, it will enlarge and I see that it extends off the right of my screen.

There should be a setting in your browser to do this. It comes in really handy because I have a small laptop screen. However, there is a slight delay when the browser resizes everything. I'm afraid I forgot what I did.

Kirk, it does that for me, also. However once the images load completely,
the screen snaps back down to size and the stamps come back smaller with
a red frame around them.

I used to get this with other large images, not just stampdog's.

Well, since editing this post, the screen no longer snaps back to its original size!

I tried the screen size thing on Mozilla. ALl it did was make my window smaller, the text still went off the end of the screen. Maybe it's just my computer.

Oh well, stampdog. Don't worry about it. I need the exercise
