I was just on ebay looking at Farley block varieties. Can any one explain the difference between an arrow line block, center line block and a cross gutter block? I came across several of these items listed incorrectly.

Hi,

An arrow line block is a margin block with a 'V' shaped marginal marking.

A center line block is a block of stamps from the very center of the sheet. Its a block where two guidelines intersect each other.

A cross gutter block is a block of stamps containing the intersection of the vertical and horizontal gutters.

cross gutter block

center line block

arrow line block (which in this case, also happens to be a plate block; however, many arrow line blocks do NOT have plate numbers)

Sure beats typing 1000 words...

Sorry, I forgot that the thread was in regards to the Farley issues. But the definitions are the same. If for some reason you need specific examples of the Farleys (other than the first one I showed), post again and let me know.
