Ho Ho, what a great mood we are all in.
So let's keep it going.
After the Curry lets have a bit of Fish...to go with the potatoes shown earlier !

A nice Dab !
But what has that got to do with stamps?
Well a lot actually.
In 1973, the Cistercian Monks on Caldey Island off the Coast of South Wales [UK], issue 4 stamps, initially for use on Postcards to carry them to the mainland [Tenby Post Office] later as Tourist Souvenirs.
Nice designs of Churches and the Monastery on the Island and Printed by Bradbury Wilkinson.
The Currency.....Dabs !
Dabs were in plentiful supply in the waters surrounding the Island but they are also [supposedly] a symbol of Christianity !

I wonder if the tourists could pay for the Stamps in Dabs instead of the 5p charge ?????

You can read more about Caldey Island here;

and the Monks;

The dabs you have seen....here are the stamps;

Londonbus1....smelling of fish !

Tierra del Fuego. Currency Gold dust.
A Romanian Julio Popper organised these and the 10c represented 10 centigrams of gold dust, being the commonest currency at the time
at that place.
Popper's Stamp, 1891, was designed by
the Austrian lithographer Rodolfo Soucup,
and printed in Buenos Aires by Casa Juan Kidd y Cía.
Stamp image source is unknown.

Steve, The El Salvador currency "Colon" is Spanish for "Columbus", as in Christopher. Costa Rica's currency is also Colon or Colones (pl). Back to El Salvador; the US dollar is now the preferred currency and maybe the only currency. Many years ago, Ecuador officially made the US dollar their currency and several years later El Salvador followed. The US dollar is also legal currency in Guatemala although we have kept the Quetzal as official national currency.

Marty

Thanks Marty.
I was fairly sure that this Colon had nothing to do with backsides, but I didn't know it meant Colombus.
