I wonder if any member can assist here.
Picture Postcard (Poona) India to London
"Sea Post Office" Bombay-Aden. CV AUD $1

What intrigues me is the "Paddington" receival postmark,
March 2nd 1909
I am ignorant of this style.
Can anyone tell me about the impression please?

Hi Rod

You have a great Ship" postmark there. While this is not my area of expertice, I might suggest you go to the TPO&SS societie's website at

http://www.tpo-seapost.org.uk/

They have some great artiucles in there for everyone to see and your particular question might be answered in there

Cheers

I am going to have to endure the quest for strike with British Postmarks
Bujutsu, it should be part of their expertise.
However, thanks for that link, I haven't been there for a while
and the seapost strike fits admirably (pun intended :)
That is very interesting site.

I'd suggest that the Paddington postmark is part of a machine roller-cancel

Yes, that's what I thought Jubilee, but having no subsidiary markings
alongside in front or behind sowed doubt.
I had a hazy thought about special postmarks for early postcards
that encouraged the query.
I'll have to drop a line to the GB postmark soc.

Yes, it should have wavy or straight lines. I don't think slogans were in use then.
