Don't these belong in the CTO thread?

He looks grumpy.

Collin

P.S. Congrats on finding a long-sought item.

Thank you for your kind words gentlemen, the goodwill here
is amazing.
Alas, the last time I wrote about these were in 2004, and for the life of me, I cannot find the text. Lost

Produced by Broadway productions, and I believe, but not sure, it was a propaganda excercise to highlight Aboriginal Australia.
The labels were not valid for postage, hence the Aust Post disclaimer, but they were, I believe used locally in some parts of inland Australia.
They do not appear (unfortunately) in "local stamps of Australia" by Bill Hornadge, the accepted bible of Australian Locals and Cinderellas.
I will keep seaching for the story and will post when/if successful.

...and yes a CTO

Glad you found them Rod. I've seen these before and always wondered why they were such a, dare I say it, "cheap" looking production. As they were produced in 2004, I would have thought something more "spectacular" would have been possible.

That aside, have you seen a cover?

Never Jubilee, these really fall under "Phantasies" I should expect.
After a while, you'll note a lot of Aussie Cinderellas printed on similar paper.
The Monty Wedd phantasies of Antarctic, the 1956 Melbourne Olympics
cinderellas, some were give aways with the "Australian Stamp News"
even, if I recall correctly, a copy of the Vignette of the
Australian first flight label. I'll see if I can dig one up.

Here you go:

The genuine Vignette

And here is the "facsimile" or an advert for it from a British firm called "PhilArts" producing a similar vignette, gummed but in souvenir sheet form.
Causes some collectors to think they have won a cruise.
