I was looking at ebay category "Stamps US Errors, Freaks, Oddities" thinking of posting a couple of Errors, or Freaks or whatever you want to call them, but the category is dominated by dealers. I notice that many of the stamps end there listing period with no bids.
I really haven't checked a Lot of categories, but does this happen in very many stamp categories ?

Hello KingConn.....

Many, many items end without bids in all categories......some have an overpriced starting bid.....some are not what they are advertised to be......some people list so much it floods the market.

I have noticed that since the last round of major ebay changes there seems to be fewer bidders.....but, better material is still attracting decent competition. Although, there is still a significant group of bidders that seems to have no idea what some material is worth and post incredible bids on seemingly common material.

Even though I feel that some fees are too high, ebay is still a viable option for collectors to sell/auction material that would otherwise just sit in a box.

The world over, the dealers 'get' the errors.
They just happen to be in the Post Office at the very moment the sheet of Imperfs or that missing head is on the top of the pile !

What a coincidence.

"Ho Ho Ho, aren't I lucky. That's the tenth time this month I have been here and bagged the error"

Duh !

Errors = Contrived = Shady dealings that Joe Public will never know about = very tired workers and guards at printing works worldwide = Let's make the dough from those sucker customers called stamp collectors !!

I don't think so.
