If I had 550 pounds of stamps I would load my pickup truck and take them to Henry Gitner in Middletown New York..he buys EVERYTHING (stamps and covers)

Welcome. I knew a collector, now deceased, who purchased a 600 pound , on paper, of foreign stamps and went through them just to get the perfins. He had no idea what to do with the remainder and he managed to sell most of it off to other Club members in lots for about $1.00/pound. It was not a pretty mess, some musty, moldy, etc. from abuse. Of course, it was mostly definitives and quite common. But, collectors are nuts for a bargain; yes, I bought about 20 pounds myself of mostly France, Spain and Peru.
