Tonya......
You will never be ridiculed here.
In my opinion.....I would not bother with grading this strip......the poor centering would make the grade quite low.

Why did it change this picture when I posted the one above on a different post?
And...thank you very much!
So the above set would probably only be worth about $10.00? |

Tonya....
With the plate number separated from the imprint it is worth less than the stated value of $45.00......I would think about $10.00 is very close.
The picture probably changed because they have the same number or id in your picture file.

Tonya First, welcome to the forum. Nice Plate strip of three. I noticed that the strip is in a clear mount. some of the early mounts were not acid free and did damage the gum side . Best to check it out and maybe use a more modern type of mount. David

I'm afraid to take it out of that mount as the stamp on the left is barely connected still. Will it be okay if it becomes detached? |

Detatched it will no longer be a strip of three......not as good, but with the broken perfs it's about there anyway. |

it is a pleasant strip of three but with poor centering of the stamps to the bottem which is offset by the selvege. There also looks to be a perf defect in the upper left hand corner of the left stamp. By PSE standards it would grade no higher than 70 and probably is close to a 60 so I wouldn't waste the money, but enjoy it for what it is. Grading is about money. Stamp collecting is about something else. |

I realise grading is about money, and unfortunately I need to sell a lot of these stamps.
I am starting my own collection out of the ones I have now. Keeping my favorites. |

I did not mean to criticize. I too am aware of the monetary Consideration of the hobby. Is is just ,I think we must separate the two aspects. We must remember that if it was not for dealers we would not have access to many items. I think there may be a misconception about the formal "Grading" performed by the grading companies. A classic in VF or beter condition will command a premium over the stated Catalogue when graded by the "Experts with all the tools necessary to grade the said stamp(s). however a normal condition stamp would not justify the cost of grading. We should maybe hear more from other members. David (DJD) |
