I have known about this curiosity for some time,
but never came across the two types, and to me they all look the same.
Anyone have a scan of the "inverted ears"?

I must say this is one of my favourite stamp sets, beautifully drawn by G Jung with a nice mixture of modern numerals and the influence of art deco.
It just shows the influence Tutankhamun's Egypt had over the world even thousands of years after his death, and of the worship of the Sun God in the 30's, I can remember as a kid, just like Hawkeye from M.A.S.H sneaking peeks into the nude sunbathing mags :)

The Netto Specialized catalogue has a tiny image that didn't help me much, but the Michel specialized catalogue has an illustration that's a bit more clear. I scanned it at 600 dpi and cropped it down, this should help you. 571 I has the incorrect ears, 571 II has the correct ears.

I hadn't seen this one either. Notice how changed the whole face is. It must have really hurt to have his ears rotated like that. I hope they put him to sleep first.

Very Nice!
I am still waiting for mine.
