I recently found a few rather old looking stamps. I understand that stamp collecting is quite popular, and only a few stamps are worth something, but God only knows how long these have seen the light of day. :) Any response is appreciated!

These are S&H Green stamps. They were given as a premium when you bought an Item at a participating store. They were redeemable for merchandise from the S&H catalog. They were popular up until the late 1960's/early 1970's. The only ones with any value are the ones from the early 1900's to very early 1950's. Sorry, but these are later(early 1960's)

You can still redeem them. I have a whole big box of them. thousands of them.
My wife thinks she is going to count them all up and order something.
I was amazed that they were still valid...but they are.

Just wondering if they made you paste them all in the little
paper booklets. Spent many a cold winters night with my mom
at the kitchen table pasting stamps into booklets. S&H, the
A&P red ones, and one that had a little elephant on it.
Fond memories. Mom even got a new am/fm radio that was
bakelite, seafoam green. Her favorite item..

In Montreal we had Steinberg Grocery Store Pinky stamps, and I remember helping my mother paste them in the books in the early 60's.

I think they were given out in strips from coils. I am not sure what the perf was - HEY! Maybe that is what got me into stamp collecting!
