Sometimes it's nice to have a bit of fun when one is getting some mail ready for sending.
So the next time you need to make up an exchange packet or mail some stamps to a SCF member, think about the envelope.
Brighten up your day and that of the addressee by making it fun......know what I mean?

I have been known to make up some, what I call, 'silly covers'. Nothing fancy or time consuming, nothing expensive or hard to find.
One can arrange stamps in a special way, put some stickers in all corners or use Christmas seals to great effect. You can draw a picture and put the stamps in the picture. The list is endless.

Try it next time, take a pic or scan and show it to us.
Sadly , I did not take pics or scans of most of the silly covers, but I have a couple to show as examples.

The first was sent to Jubilee and has just arrived. His name is written in Hebrew on two lines of stamps using the Hebrew Alphabet stamps from 2001. I used blocks as well as it does appear to be more attractive. Of course, much depends on the total postage, but low values can be purchased to have fun with. I always have a load to hand.

The next one was photo using my camera so it's a bit bright.
This one was sent to Nuggethill today....can you spot the fun Franking ???????!!
Just another silly moment that I hope will be appreciated by the receiver.

It's amazing what you can do with such little effort.
Mine are a bit....well, square I'd say but I am sure you lot can come up with something magnifico !
So have a go.
And come and show.

Londonbus1...has to go !

Here is a fun cover I received from a philatelic supply company. When I send something to another collector I try to always use commemorative stamps and get a nice hand cancel. I also try to use a left over cachet cover or Local Post issue of mine to liven things up.

LondonBus:

Once I get the scanner going I'll show an interesting, fun franking from the USA. Remember that Canada is one of the few countries in the world that still permit a mixed franking... that is, the stamps from another country as well as it's own.

In our case, Canadian stamps and Newfoundland stamps. Newfoundland was a crown colony in 1949, when it joined Confederation. As part of the agreement in joining Canada, their stamps (issued in dollars and cents) are still valid for postage throughout the Dominion.

Londonbus1, you are quite the inspiring gentleman.
Thank you.

I have fun every time I stick a stamp on an envelope and wish, like you, that I had kept photos of some of the envelopes I had made too. Not as totally wow as your recent ones above but still, fun for a stamp collector I hoped.
