Granny Lee Where Is Virginia ???

Ok..i have been through a cigar box and 3 large envelopes of pre cancels...i have found Maryland and Washington D.C. but not one pre cancel from Virginia..can it just be bad luck ?????

Hi Allen, it just seemed odd..much smallers states were represented..i was wondering if other pre cancel collectors noticed the same thing !!

Funny thing... I just sat down and went through about 4000 buro duplicates and found a whopping 4 VA precancels, all from Richmond. Based on that, I'd say they're kind of hard to come by!

Bad news abohart, I just started researching through my precancel booklets and found almost twenty VA precancels, so they are not as rare as you would have hoped for.

I guess we burned em in Richmond !! no doubt some states and cities were more into it than others..will keep looking when I think about it..everytime I get a new love I kind neglect the others for a while !!

I would have sworn I had some,
I just looked through my stockbooks,
I would have in excess of 6000 precancels,

Not one Virginia!

While you guys are searching your 100's and 1,000's of precancels could you check on these for me? I'm still trying to complete my Route 66 collection.
