Hi IndianMom. IrfanView is a nice program - exactly what do you want to do? View images, scan, resize, etc.

Here is what I do:

1. In File menu I go to Select Twain source and select my scanner
2. In file menu, click on Acquire/Batch Scanning
3. In the dialog box that pops up, select "single image", then OK
4. Another dialog will pop up showing your scan.
5. For a single stamp or cover I put the source at Photo (color), Destination at 300dpi, Output Flexible.
6. Click "scan"
7. After the scan shows up, go to File menu and click Save. Make sure file type is set to JPEG. Another box will show up with JPEG save options. In the Dialog box check Disk size, if it is less or equal 90.00 kb, it is ready to upload to the forum.
9. If it is larger than 90.0 kb, change it to 90 kb. Click save, and it is ready to upload.
