Hi Everyone,
After many, many years of not collecting stamps, I've decided to go back to the hobby. As a child my mother and grandmother were stamp collectors. My grandmother's collection was extensive with both worldwide and U.S. collections. I'm so sorry that I hadn't kept up collecting, but I'm ready to start again.
I'm looking forward to reeducating myself and seeing what out there has changed in the stamp world. I personally liked to collect the foriegn stamps with a focus on the stamps of Bhutan. Back in the 60's and 70's I remember the stamps that I was collecting were puffy or raised stamps and I'm looking forward to seeing if I can rebuild that collection.

Hi Donna, welcome to this Stamp Forum, and welcome back to the stamp world! We shall be looking forward to your participation. I assume that these images are similar to the "puffy" stamps you saw. I have some in my collection, and other 3-d lenticular stamps from Bhutan. You can find them easily on ebay. |

Welcome, Donna.
Bhutan also released a set of stamps that could be played on a record player. They had the national anthem, etc. on them.

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Bee See, I remember that set. My mother had bought me that set and had wanted me to put it in the scrap album that she had made for me when JFK had died. I insisted to putting that set in the stamp album that I had.
David Giles, Bhutan actually had a stamp that could be played on the record player? I knew I liked Bhutan's inovatiness!...lol I've got to have that set. Do you know the catalog number and the year it was put out? |

Hi Donna, welcome! Bhutan is fun. I liked the 3D stamps from there. If you search on the forum for Bhutan there were some photos and info posted on them a while back now. |
