G'day Ron,
The Bounty Day was 1978
Stanley Gibbons SG188 (MS188) 166mm x 122mm
(CV around GBP9)

Not in my collection.
Stanley Gibbons sometimes calls it HMS Bounty,
which is incorrect, she was not commissioned for war
so had the title "Her Majesty's Armed Vessel"
----
The only other HMAVs that I know of were :
(a) HMAV Arakan.
(b) HMAV Ardennes

They were both Royal Navy Logistic Landing Craft used
for carrying persomnnel, vehicles, or ammunition.
acknowledgement:blair rcsd.

Other Bounty stuff for Eunice perhaps-(not mine)

Hello Iaswabbie (or should I call you Popeye?)

Thanks for the response and I appreciate your offer of the relevant page in the P.I. catalogue - yes, I would be interested thanks!

I have posted a query to one of the experts on the P.I.S.C. regarding this but have not as yet received a response.

As I mentioned we disposed of our P.I. collection many years ago and I cannot remember why I held on to the plate blocks of that particular issue.

We do have all sorts of odds and ends around but I think it was because I was in Brisbane G.P.O. at the time they were issued and they just appealed.

Thanks and regards.
Ron.

Hello Rod

Thanks for that information.

However the mini sheet which Eunice is looking for is to go with her miniature sheet collection - page already written up but sheet missing as sold with the collection of Pitcairn as we felt it would sell better if complete.

We always check when we go to stamp days and there is one coming up in Brisbane week end after next, so who knows we might just get lucky.

Cheers
Ron and Eunice.

There is a retired minister, a Dr. Weller, who as a member of our local North Carolina philatelic club enthralled us with his tales of Pitcairn Island as we was a member of a philatelic society centered on the stamps of this entity. He began selling off his specialized collection about three years ago and I picked up some stuff for my WW collection from him.

A WW collector Raimond,
you are an endangered species

I would be very ineterested if you would care
to share how you go about your collection,
and how you manage and archive it.
