Can anyone offer a SG cat for this SS issue please?
Apparently a lot of these were issued during the presidency of Roosevelt, due to his interest and direct influence in philately
at that time.

Of course you want SG, but I can tell you it is Scott 797, not that you needed to know.

You have scott open on your desk at US I gather

Sorry, no help, I have (UK vernacular - Minisheets)
in my Gibbons, but not US. Grrr

At the National Parks there is a gap in numbers 748-771
so I guess I could guess it would be SG758 or near to it.

rod,
These series of issues are not cinderella's. They could actually be used for postage. I only mention this because you posted in the cinderella forum. BTW, this is one of my favortie series.

You are very observant, StamperDude. I did not notice that! AND the Parks are one of MY favourite U.S. series of all time.

Thanks very much Ryan.

Warrehouse why "Farleys Folly"?
I had read that under the patronage of Mr. Roosevelt, a lot of these types
of issues were printed for collectors.

I don't think that the SPA sheet falls under the category of Farley's follies.

The Postmaster General at the time was James Farley. When the public found out that he had given President FDR imperforated stamps and created a very rare variety they demanded more t obe printed & released to the general public.

rohumpy,
You are correct. This is not one of the Farley's follies, though one could certainly be forgiven for lumping it in with them. For more information and pictures of the Farley's follies have a look here: http://www.1847usa.com/identify/Yea...sFollies.htm

Thanks Stamperdude / Allen,
I really like the designs of this set,
would have looked magnificent if they were bi-coloured.
The single colour makes them look a little flat.
