Welcome Aboard!

Do you have any stamps now or are you looking to start collecting stamps too? Has your interest in stamps got a direction yet?

Dave I mostly collect old paper items such as advertising etc. but recently bought a huge amount of pre 1900 trunks full of letters postcards etc. and am really enjoying researching them.I will probally keep some and sell some as im running out of room here at home lol.I really like the civil war era but am not familiar with the stamps and covers from that era. Thanks for the welcome and I have posted a few things and more to come.

Eddie

Welcome, to the forum. Your collecting interests sound fascinating. In addition to stamp collecting I occasionally pickup glass soda bottles and other vintage items to tie into my beginning Route 66 collection. Being a stamp collector for 25 years, I am drawn to paper items and old stuff.

Welcome aboard. You'll find that some number of us come into antique paper items from time to time that you may be interested. So stick around for the long haul and see what develops.

Thanks again for the warm welcome.I have a rather large collection of paper advertisments and actually I was slowly starting to downsize when I came upon those trunks full of paper items at a auction. Now I have more than ever before lol but im not complaining.I usually keep some and sell some when I see something I want instead of using my pocket money. If anyone ever runs into antique bottles and dont collect them please let me know.I really like to obtain paper advertisments for the antique bottles I dig.

Welcome crozet86, glad to have you here.

Sometimes I ignore all the 'extra stuff' that is accumulated by some and just go for the stamps. I am learning different from reading on here and it is good to know of your bottles and advertisements angle also. More stuff to find and hunt for. Fun.

Is it just USA stuff you are interested in or worldwide? Canada had lots of settlers from New England in Nova Scotia here.

Welcome! Some of us share at least a part of your collecting bug, in that we collect advertising related to stamps. I have become passionate about that aspect of philately in the past couple of years. It's a nice sideline, fairly affordable, and provides a real thrill in the chase!
