Well, after much head scratching and searching for the best price on the album that I wanted, I ordered my Statesman Album. I'm getting the most current edition, 2009, that is now a 2 volume set. I ordered it from Whitman Books. That should keep me busy for awhile. The supplements I'll get later. The stamp collection that is being given to me will be in my hands this time tomorrow morning. I am so looking forward to that collection. It's like getting an attic delivered to me, probably dust and all...lol

It will look great Donna!

I found after a long while collecting that I needed two Stateman's and lots of quadrilled blank pages also.

At the time I just used my old worn tatty binder and bought a new binder so have one old and one new. It would have been better (hindsight is great) to have had two to start with.

It is amazing that there are so many stamps now. I have been away from the worldwide stuff for years now.

I must now go andd look at this Whitman Books to see how a two volume set looks now. You've got me thinking. The collecting bug is hard to shake once you have a great time collecting and have great memories.

Awesome, I have not got an album myself. Will give it a few years of collecting before looking into to that, enjoy.

Puzzler: I have a couple of old 3 ring binders that I will use one of to set up as my stock book. I'll get the pages for that later. I did realize that I will have to get a magnifier. I can't see the fleas on my cat's...well, I can't see them...lol That I can pick up cheap anywhere. I want to work on the Bhutan stamps and I'm kicking myself when I see the prices on some of the set that I had. One set I had was $5 when I bought it, mint. I ran across a listing for it where I saw that it is now worth $22. Well, the good thing there is that I only have 48 years of that country's stamps to catch up on...1962-2010. I'm running across so many stamps that I know I had or that my grandmother had and I'm just cringing when I think about all that was lost or misplaced. Well, the fun of it is going to be collecting them again.

Diane: Trust me! I will enjoy myself. I've been wanting to do this for years and I just stopped procrastinating about it. I am remembering a lot of the little things about the hobby of stamp collecting. When I mention it to my hubby, he just gets this glazed look in his eyes and says, "Good for you. Sounds like a project."...lol He has no idea.

John-Let me tell you about the art of re-addicting myself...lol When I started stamp collecting, girls my age were going to the school dances or sitting out on the front porch talking about the cutest or newest hunk. I was in the house, under a lamp, grabbing the cat's tail as she went by, because there was the missing stamp I was just getting ready to put on my book. That sounded pathetic, but TRUE!....lol Re-addiction to the stamps will be like a long lost friend.

06Honda-I couldn't imagine not having an album to start with. To me that would be like collecting beanie babies without the beans!....lol Thanks for the well wishes though.

I am very much about family Donna! Your two description of your Grandmother that I have read leaves me with no doubt that you shared some very treasured times stamping with her and I am sure lots of other good times as well. A BIG good on the Grandmothers of the world! It would be a much sadder place without them!
