Hi My name is Samuel Tan. I am new in this forum, but I am an old stamps collector. I was born in Indonesia. I collects stamps since I was 7 years, laying in bed sick. My Uncle brought me a set of beautiful Mint Indonesian (Tropical) Flower. I got hook right then. When I was 10, with my (3 month) older cousin, we went to Stamps auctions. We were the only kids, they often let us win the bid since they knew that we brought only few pocket money to buy few stamps. Went to study in (West) Germany, and now live in Southern California.
I put my collection aside to grow a family, since the end of last year trying to go back to my Stamps Collection. I made a wrong move, in Germany, I organized all my collection in Kabe albums. I left Germany in 1981, never added supplements. last year I try to completed my Kabe album, I found out it is very expensive. I can't effort to pay thousands dollars just for the album. I don't like hinges, and after Kabe, anything other do not appeal me. I might created my own pages with Acid free paper, pasted Hinges-less "sleeve". Anybody have suggestion what should I do?
I active in the coin forum next door, since my second wife is coin, that makes stamps my third.

hello Samuel, welcome.

I just use the Vario pages myself so am not much help in the nicer albums department. There are many types I have read on here though.

perhaps you could experiment and try a small selection of the strips you mentioned to see if you like them. There are clear and black I believe.

I like Showgard black mounts and 'Steiner' pages for my world-wide efforts myself. Welcome and good luck. I know how you feel and a bit of the dilemma you face. I used a 'Regent' album prior to my hiatus and on my return found it was no longer in print and had to begin again with something new.

It's been almost a year.
Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. Sorry I couldn't come back sooner.
I was "sick", I had Gout on and off. Those thing killing me.
Puzzler: Vario pages are not cheap, it is a Dollar each.
cgrotha: can you please explain to me how Showguard black work? Is that like a clear pocket with black stick on back ground? Steiner pages look like what I am looking for.
Regards,
Samuel tan
