Amazing! So many of us only have stamping as our only vice. I am surprised but it is very pleasing to hear. I have a full-on work background but it is useless to me now. Stamping gives me a life. I am basically house bound. I was crushed and they put me back together. Stamping as I see it now is the best thing that ever happened to me. Now I am passive but before I was the total opposite in a big way. Stamping and family go hand in hand even if SCF is the only one you have. How can we put a price on this! You stamping people are full of surprises. John

You guys are scaring me! I am just starting back into this most missed and beloved hobby. My collection from years back was done with stamps that were bought for me to start my collection, so it wasn't like I was really investing my $$.

Let's see I don't drink, but I do have a pet that gets treaties. Poor baby will just have to learn to go without.

Donna

Hey, don't forget that if any of you US guys served in the military--your SS income should be a few bucks more--maybe more for the stamps.

BTW, my money goes on the grandkids--I don't smoke, don't play golf (for sure), don't collect vintage cars, and rarely drink--but that glass of red wine that Londonbus was talking about sounds healthy!

There is a small percentage of collectors whom have very large budgets in the $1,000 or even $100's of dollars. Most of us trade, sell duplicates, or save up and budget to buy more expensive items.

I will have to check on the increased SS for being in the service. I flew a B24 on WWII and been on SS for 20 years with no increase for Service time. Gussyboy there is no pension for being in the military during wartime.
I did go to College on the GI Bill and bought my first house in the GI bill.
My down side was I drank too much, smoked to much, drove too fast, played too much golf, and got hooked on fly fishing. Don't know how I made it to 85.
