Good points. I don't drink, smoke, or gamble. Stamps are one of my collecting vices.

We have no pets; I don't play golf; I do not have a boat; I don't smoke; I don't gamble and I only drink a beer once a week with Golovacz and he usually pays while I buy the chips !
I drink a glass of red wine a day to keep the cardiologist happy.....if this is a vice I'll admit it !

So why is it I have no money for stamps ?

Londonbus1....empty pocket liners hanging out !

I know most of my $$$$ goes to household bills and daycare. Oh, and then there are those pesky vet bills everynow and then.

Spock,
I collect Abraham Lincoln and Historic US Highway Route 66 (not currently featured on any US stamps). I'm surprised you didn't know that by now. I seem to be always posting about those 2 topics.

Dude, when the kids were growing up I was lucky I could afford a first day cover..stamps are not an inexpensive pursuit..if we live long enough and have some discretionary income they are a source of great pleasure !!

You may be surprised if you live long enough. I retired 20 years ago at 65 and my pension is based on 1990 dollars. So with what happened to the stock market, an implanted pacemaker defibrillator, cataracts, and cpap there is not any discretionary income. you live a day at a time.
I exaggerate but it isn't all roses. Have fun and keep a sense of humor and buy stamps while you can.

Conn

My money seems to go on the pets - one recent aquisition - Londonbus has met her, the wine, cigarettes *g* (really need to give those up). But I have bursts of stamp buying every couple of months or so.
