Hey guys.

well, I was bored and decided to list one of my albums in excel.

The first column represents scott #, second represents quantity.

I am a new stamp collector and was curious as to the possible worth of these stamps?

I realize there are many variables to consider while assessing the value of the stamps, however I think it's a nice collection.

Can you post your critique / thoughts? Thanks, I appreciate your input.

Welcome-

Do you have the ability to post any scans? As you say, value is dependent upon a number of factors. (Plus, I'm sure many of us would just be interested in seeing them...)

Just going by the numbers it looks like a nice collection.

I appreciate your complimentary regard sir.

:)

I have considered scanning them, though it would take such a long time. I've taken pictures with my laptop cam but they come out fuzzy.

Best bet is to get a nice camera I guess

I agree, scanning them all would probably drive you crazy, and wouldn't be worth it unless it fit into your overall cataloging effort.

However, for sharing just a few, I think you'll be happier with the results you get with a scanner versus a camera.

Maybe just a few examples? 1, 17, and 37 are particularly nice. Everyone has an opinion about 73s, and you've got a bunch.

Just an idea.

C.

Nice scans, nice stamps, love the pen cancels.

You would be far better off using a flat file database
than excel. (spreadsheets are dangerous for databases)

2 clicks to start the database.
Any search will give you a cute "subset"

Very nice. I'm drooling over your Zeppelins as I type. A program I use to keep up with my collection is Stamps2Go Assistant. You have entries for Scott #, quantity, catalog value, price you paid, etc. You can even upload a picture. Best part is it's free.

What did you have to mortgage to get those three gorgeous Graf Zeppelins?

I never see them in such a condition.

Thanks for the opportunity to do it here.
