Two other current topics had me thinking of these covers: the cut square/postal stationery topic, and the mystery auction mega-lot. A dealer was going through a large box from overseas, and laughing about a large stack of covers that he was now the proud owner of, all superficially like these. He was thinking it was probably from a promotion or a radio contest. I picked out ten, or so, and he didn't have the heart to charge me for them.

I can't answer the question, "what are you going to do with them?" Any guess as to what purpose these served? I looked around a bit online, but I couldn't get a good i.d. for Mr. Pep.
