I open cover by going to the right side and using a pair of sharp scissors.
I cut just a sliver off the end of the envelope after tapping it down on
the desk to shift the contents away from the end I am cutting. Remember,
just a sliver off the end, as thin as possible. You'll never see it gone.
It looks like a 3" long strand of white hair when you cut it off, well almost.

Good luck

After looking at yours again, my method wouldn't work well on the right.
If you go this route, use the left side. You'll never get the right smoothed
out enough for a pretty cut down the side.

You were right, Tony, it is pretty dry.

While messing around I also found this:

I am quite certain it is the same person as the adressee on the envelope.

The cover itself is in the exact same condition, you cannot tell that it has been opened. Of course, I did put the mail item back in the envelope.

SV: This cover is part of my Canal Zone cover and postal history collection. I may have some Masonic material on hand though. If I run into any I will let you know.

BC.. you being funny?

It is not so much a great piece as it is interesting.
It is simply a suspension notice... nothing more..
It would be cool to stick it in my lodges' museum.

I consider anything that is commercial usage in a topical collection "great".

I really like that letterhead.
Too bad that crest wasn't on the envelope.
That would be a really nice cover, not that it isn't already.

My way of collecting, would be to fold it back up and put it
back into cover. Not that it displays well that way, but IMO
keeping things tied together only adds to it's value/interest.
