Andy Warhol hit on something with repetition of images repeated . I'd like to see if anyone has tried to "collect them all." Do you have a lot of the same stamp? Does anyone know what is the largest collection of a single issue ever acquired?

Awhile back, somebody had over 1 million copies of the 1864 Penny Red of Great Britain (#33 in the Scott catalog). I forgot who it was, but I think it was somebody in Canada. |

That's a nice looking stamp. A pretty penny, one might say. May need to pick one up, while supplies last... |

from a dodgy memory: Orlo-Smith the great Australian philatelist, accumulated 500,000 1d KG5 sideface, to establish his "shades of red" rainbow. I have countless Indian "service" or official stamps, nothing even nearing the above though. All this will surely be overcome one day by a fanatical Machin collector. |

I can't help wondering if this kind of stocking would affect stamp availability and market prices if done on large enough scale. It would definitely open up some very "interesting" opportunities (remember the Afinsa).... LOL [twisted world domination laughter]

From the article in the link... Quote: soon he had collected 1,50,150 of this particular stamp. I am not familiar with that notation. What exactly is that number, or was there a glitch in my download of that article? Do I ignore the comma placement, so the total number is 150150? k |

Hahahaha. Back in the 60's, there were ads in US stamp catalogues (so I read) of this stamp of Walter Burley griffin the guy that designed Australia's capital terr. This US collector would buy any amount. I don't think it worked :) |

Lakh and crore! Counting systems are a bit different in India and region. (Yes, we'd say 150,150.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian...ering_systemRyan |
