This set was issued in 1996 to celebrate 100 years of Aussie rules football. I have an assortment of those stamps. some used, some mint. It is a nice set of our National football teams. My team is the Fremantle Dockers (third row of stamps, third stamp). The other West Aussie team is West Coast Eagles (bottom row, first stamp), the other teams all come from the Eastern states, so they don't matter. LOL Thanks for sharing, Bobgggg.
Steve, the fellow from Melbourne in our stamp club was back home within the last two years...he picked up the Olympic stamps depicting the Australian athletes..made a very nice show and tell for the club !!
Philb, most of those teams are from Melbourne. The AFl was originally the VFl (Victorian Football League), before it expanded to become a national league. I have a few of those Athletics stamps too, but not all of them.
