Again I apologize as I'm still learning how to look these up, when they are printed in one country for another with overprints.

I have a ALGERIE over print I thought it was a French released Algerian stamp, I found the French stamp without the overprint listed as Scott 1946 #562 a153

I cant seem to figure out how to reference the overprint version of it, cant find it in colonies, ect...

any help?
Ed

Usually when there is an overprint version of a stamp. at the end of the listing for those stamps or series of stamps, in Scotts. there is usually a note that says for overprints Oxx-Oyy
also after each countries regular stamp listings, scott lists all the special ones, like overprints surcharges etc.

Don't worry. With over 300,000 stamps listed in the Scott catalog, it's a lot easier to miss a specific stamp than to find it.

I have a glassine of stamps that I know I found in the catalog at one time, but can't seem to find again!

The new color catalogs make it somewhat easier to find an unfamiliar stamp, but it's still no a sure thing for me. Maybe it's because my brain falls out of gear!

Yes, those are very good deals when you consider that shipping all 6 volumes easily runs $20+.
