Hi,

My name is Amr. I am from Egypt. I collected stamps when I was a child (Mainly Egyptian stamps witha few world ones). I stopped collecting many years ago.

I am a coin collector too, I collect Egyptian, US and some selected world coins. I am trying to collect world coins having the Great White shark on it.

I was thinking of starting to collect stamps again, and to make my Great White shark collection of both coins and stamps.

I hope that you the experts will help me know more about stamps and to guide me how to Start my collection.

Thanks

Kind Regards

Amr

My friend Amr,
Welcome to the SCF.
I was just talking about you here, the other day.
One of the guys needed help with an Egyptian stamp.
I think the problem was solved though.

If you are thinking of getting in to stamps as well, I hope you realise the "can of worms" you are opening up. LOL

These guys are very knowledgable (not me, I'm a stamp dummy), and
I'm sure you will find all the answers you seek.

I guess the first thing to do, is decide if you want to specialise on one country or region, or collect worldwide. Maybe start off with worldwide and see if anything takes your fancy.

Enjoy your stay with us.

Steve

Welcome AMR,

If you have had a chance to browse through the other topics in this forum, you may have seen where people show pictures of differnt stamps in a topic. You could request people to show any stamps with Great White Sharks on them. I bet that would be neato!
Maybe I'll ask that for myself...

edited: Well, I see you beat me to the punch and have already put an entry for Great White Sharks in the Topical area. Good job!

Kind Regards,

Dave N.

Steve, it's very nice finding a friend already here. Feel like already at home.

I have registered to this forum 2 years ago, and have been thinking about collecting stamps since then. I finally decided to try and see what will happen. I am a little bit lost, and dont know what to do or where to start but I think this is normal.

It just reminds me when I started coin collecting

Thanks again for the warm welcome

Amr

I suppose one could just attempt to work on their stamp collection only during Shark Week on the Discovery Channel.
