Sorry about that. That's what happens when I drink my Dr. Pepper too fast.

Lovely stamp Daryl ! Just a pity about the toning/stain.
I don't think I have ever seen the stamp before. [Or knowing me, not paid attention when I had seen it].

I hope you don't mind me showing my latest purchase on your thread.
Hey, maybe open it up for everyone's latest acquisition !

A De La Rue Horizon label, MNH tete-beche pair as issued to Post Offices. [Great Britain of course]

Your #572 is a better example and in better condition than the one I have, reasonably centered it's not to shabby for $4.00 Daryl

Michael, I love that stamp... very nice..
Harry, I didn't own one previously...so it is good for me..
I am still aiming to buy stamps for no more then 30% CV. This one wouldn't meet the qualifications for the MNH prices.. but if I ever needed to, I could use this as a valid stamp.. $2.00

With extreme care and some good advice,
that rust stain could be removed,
and you will have a bonzer stamp.

If the stamp still has original gum, all the "cleaning" methods to remove the stain will disturb the gum.

Yes, you can remove the stain, but you will also run the risk of staining your reputation if you accidentally sell the stamp without disclosing that it has been altered. My opinion.

thanks for the advice guys.
When I actually buy stamps, I buy them to keep. So I won't be selling this.
Kim, I follow in your thoughts.. I would hate to alter a stamp, for fear of one day parting with it and forgetting it was altered.
In my world, honesty and integrity are everything.

StampVirgin,

You can't beat that price.

I paid $36 for this one at auction in 1982 - the catalog value at the time was $200 so I was pretty pleased with myself.
