What are the #s on the back of some coil stamps? Do they enhance value if part of a PNC strip ? I don't know a lot about stamps so bear with me. Thanks.

Counting numbers. It helps the clerk know how many stamps are left in the roll. Appears every ten stamps on selected coils. There used to be a decent number who specialized in this, but that number has dwindled significantly. Still a few that dabble in it. I think Marty was one, and also another European member, but I have forgotten the username.

As far as I know, there is no longer any premium associated with the numbers. Although the serious collector will go after font varieties and also placement varieties (top/middle/bottom).

You are welcome!

Also, I meant the "specialist", not the "serious collector".

Nice stamps. I'm (Marty) one of those khj mentioned as a collector of counting numbered stamps. I have a nice selection but I have not seen the font used on the 3 with blue numbers. That is mainly due to not being in the US which makes it difficult in obtaining certain stamps.
