Our international post designs. |

Yes, they seem to have appeal (the modern Aust panoramas) I sent some Uluru Maxi Cards to a Finnish lady (I belong to a postcard swap club) and it was rated "special mention" on the website. she loved the panorama.
A lot of the International stamps I feel are a bit skinny for the propaganda aspect. I reckon they could have had a larger format.

Who would have thought that the pig, which was probably dinner, would have come so close to stamp immortality. I suppose that since the pig is part of this discussion, a form of forever has been achieved. Such are the vagaries of this mortal passage. |

It is amazing how many of these top class artists with winning stamp designs that were never used. Hopefully it is not because of political reasons.
I liked the response from a graphic designer in America who is employed by a special occasions paper wrapping company. The powers to be in US post saw his Christmas paper designs and contacted him personally to make some stamp designs for Christmas stamps. I believe they were issued last Christmas. The designer was so humbled by the experience and said it was the highlight of his time in his trade. He just could not believe his work was held so highly as to be put on stamps.
Many people have tried to be stamp designers but very few have made it!
Stamp designers are very special people!

Quote: Stamp designers are very special people! Not all of them - in my opinion this Tuvalu is horrific. Okay, I gues that does make the designer special! |

That Tuvalu item looks like a Cinderella. I wouldn't be too quick to assume it's a postage stamp. |

Under "collage" John ? Not sure what that sheet is, looks like a flyer to go with the US painters stamps I'm happy you posted that. Thanks. I'll chase it up. (Looks like you got a big bag of goodies ) |

Rod the storage for this piece of parcel post is a bit of a challenge. The sheet has die cut perfs around the stamps. Looks to be a self adhesive. It is attached to nasty thick corrugated cardboard. I do like it to the point of a favorite piece. Have been wanting to frame some sets. I might add it to the list. It will have to be left as is. It would look nice hanging from the wall in my stamping area.
A strange piece to deal with! |
