OK I posted a photo to the test section from my photobucket.com page.
The test photo came through great. But when I try posting the exact same thing on another section it does not work.
Yes I read the tutorial and it's over my head. I belong to other forums, such as automotive racing and coin forums.
On those forums I never have trouble posting photos directly from photobucket. Why doesn't it work here?

Hi Nutmeg

Posting pics from Photobucket is easy, it is the only way I post pictures here at SCF.
This is how:

Go to Photobucket and click on the second link down [Direct Link] beneath the photo/pic you want to post here. Then right click and copy.
The link reads like this:
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f...ers001-6.jpg

When you get here, go to the topic you want to post a picture to and click on reply now.
You will see a row of symbols above the message area called Format.
Scroll your mouse across them until you come to 'Insert image', the little yellow box and click on it.
This opens up on the message area and just paste your link from photobucket between the 'img' tags.
Voila !

Thanks for your reply. I'll keep trying but don't totally understand the process.
I got into computers late in life and never took a course. I am not familiar with "right click and copy". Also what I want to do is post a picture to a new thread not reply to an existing thread. To be honest what I would like to do is try selling a few stamps when I get 50 posts here.
Now, I am used to hand typing the photobucket link. I find it works on other forums. So I guess my question is this: Can I just click the yellow box and bring up the and then hand type the link between those?
I suppose if I can't figure it out, I can send pics by e-mail to any interested buyers. Thanks again for your suggestions.

Thanks again Londonbus1. You provided enough information to figure it out.
After clicking the yellow box I just hand typed the photobucket link.

Excellent !
I was like this a while ago. I am still pretty much a computer dummy with no one here to help, I just find out by making mistakes !

Back to Photobucket [just to make it easier for you].

Go to your Album at Photobucket and then....

1]. Under your photo/picture there are 4 options.

a]. Email & IM.....http://s45.photobucket.com/albums etc.
b]. Direct Link....http://i45.photobucket.com/albums etc.
c]. HTML Code......<a href="http://s45.photobucket.com/albums etc.
d]. IMG Code.......[IMG]http://i45.photobucket.com/albums etc.

If you are holding your mouse with two fingers outstretched then click with the left finger [left click on the mouse] on the link next to b]. Direct Link. The little rectangular box holding the link will turn blue. Then you right click on this [what is now] Blue box. A small window will appear with a number of options [most of them not available]. One says 'copy'. Left click on the word copy and that little window will disappear. Now you have copied.

2]. Go back to the Forum [which you should have ready in another window] and follow the steps you have taken already except this time, instead of typing, just left click between the 'img' tags and then right click. That little window will appear again, this time you left click on the word 'Paste'.
If you do this once or twice it will be very easy, very quickly. The whole process takes a matter of a few seconds with both Photobucket and SCF open in different windows.
you will sail through it much more quickly than typing the link.

3]. Now go and practice and report back to me at 8am sharp !

Of course, you can post pics from your computer direct. I cannot do this because of some Hebrew text problem but others will know how to guide you if you wish to use this method. Or you can read about it by clicking on 'Uploading photos' just under the Tutorials Blue box on the left side of your screen.

Have fun, post pics often and I look forward to your sales when you get to 50.

Londonbus1,
Thanks again for the help. I work 2nd shift and will be gone the rest of the day.
But I will experiment tomorrow. I have taken 3 more shots of some other barred cancels and will try to post them up to the "What cancel is this?" thread.
Thanks to you I now feel that my involvement here has reached a higher level.
I am happy to be able to post photos!
