Here is what I'm finding

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Your 2, the green package, is the oldest. I remember using these when I first started. They were not prefolded and had rounded corners. I guess prefolding was an improvement. Your number 3 comes next, followed by number 1. Number 4, FOLDO-HINGE is is a Unitrade knock off. Beware. The real ones read FOLD-O-HINGE. The original FOLD-O-HINGES are comparable to the original Dennison's. Yes, the Dennisen's at the bottom are a poor knock off from Canada, as well, and probably more like the Prinz and other German imports. Both are trying to capitalize on the reputation of the two best brands once made in the States. If you're lOOking for real Dennison's, lOOk for the "O."

If you were looking to make money with stamps, you should have been investing in Dennison Stamp Hinges. But all but the kids and the purists were going to mounts, so who would know.

Whilst on the subject, it could be a pertinent time
to suggest a re-visit on how to use a hinge.

Get 10 or 20 duplicates or damaged stamps,
a scrap book page or A4 copier paper,
and have a practice.

The trick to a peelable hinge, is how you dab your tongue
or how you use your cotton bud.

Hinge five stamps with a really wet tongue or bud
and swipe the hinge surface in a sweeping motion as if
you are licking a gummed envelope.

Next take 5 stamps and with a dry tongue just dab
the hinge ever so lightly, the trick is almost indiscernible
the gum on the hinge just has to be tacky, not wet
Afix those 5 stamps and put aside for a couple of hours.

Now remove all stamps and notice the difference of adhesion.

The skill you use both with tongs, Long Pointies are the best
and the way you tacky the hinge is quite remarkable I find.
If you hinge a mint stamp and the hinge "skids" then that is
a sure indication you are using too much moisture.

And it goes without saying, if you use your tongue, try to
finish your Mars bar, or breakfast cereal before working
on stamps.

You mean I shouldn't lick the stamp?!?

Sorry Rod, I just couldn't resist!

Actually, I split My old round edge non-folded Dennison's in half. fold them about half of what you would normally have. They work quite well.

You are Revman,

What brought this about was frustration at lifting
stamps from my club's circuit sheets.
I will be facing it on a coming Tuesday.

Each meeting I tear 1 or two stamps, because tongue-man
has been slobbering so well, he licks the hinge, AND
the stamp, and it all gets glued horribly to the sheet.

I get upside down hinges, sideways hinges , you name it.

I smuggled in a camera, and caught our club's licker in action :
