Sorry you didn't win it! $473.00 is a very good price for that stamp. Someone got a good deal. I expected it would go for at least $500.00. It just goes to show there are good deals to be had out there.

That was a very fine example of a #1 and should have sold for much more than it did,I too have a limit to my bidding so I usually stop at about 20% of the Scott catalogue price,though there has been some very nice examples of the stamps I'm bidding for and have gone much higher than that.
The demand for these will always be great and I myself will need to up grade my #1 to a better example some day,so keep trying and you never know there my be another nice copy that will slip under the noses of the philatelic community,that's the way luck is.
