This should be an easy question for a US Specialist, but I'm stumped.

Had soaked these stamps off paper and found these two plate number varieties on the USA Bulk Rate Coil. I have the variations on the original issue (2603 and 2604) but I cannot seem to find the 1996 varieties where the "S" plate number appears in different positions and date appears in the lower left corner of the one stamp.

I must just be missing it with all the varieties of this stamp...nevertheless, I would appreciate some help. Thanks.

Thanks. I knew it was something simple. I've just been searching my catalog for the last half hour and kept skipping over 2907!

You are welcome!

If you look closely at the footnotes at the bottom of the listings for 2604, it mentions the subsequent listings. Scott doesn't always do this accurately or completely, but for the US section these "see also" footnotes are pretty complete (just not always obvious).

Also, if you have the Scott US Specialized, there is an excellent Identifier for US definitives near the front, where all the definitives are grouped first by design type and denomination, rather than in Scott number order. I find it very useful.

My catalog resources have been:

1. The 2011 Blackbook Price Guide to US Stamps (where they don't even list a 2907!) and the references to 2604 are "typo"-ed 2504 (so much for that worthless resource...but what can I expect for $3.) I typically only use that as a quick reference for a Scott number as I know their catalog prices are way off base; and

2. A 2002 Scott U.S. Specialized. I didn't catch the 2907 reference there because the illustration of the stamp reverted back to the 2604 some 16 pages earlier in that catalog and there is no reference that I can see under 2604 that refers one to look at the 2907 variety. However, I never thought to look in the Stamp Identifier, but I just did and there it is! (I'll know to look there the next time.)

Thanks again.
