Today a new US stamp is being issued to commemorate Julia de Burgos. It's topic is not the most well known person, nor is it a highly anticipated stamp release. However, to me the day of its release is important. Today is my 8th wedding anniversary to my lovely wife. I get to make a unofficial FDOI cover to honor our anniversary!
wt1, Yeah I know there was a stamp issued that day, but I don't have it as a FDC. I really didn't collect covers at that point in time, just stamps. I had made up a list of US stamps issued on important dates to me hoping to 1 day complete a cover collection.
Just got a sheetlet, and I must say that the stamp design doesn't exactly grab you. It's ok as far as it goes, but I am not impressed. Not that the USPS cares that I am not impressed.
